Subject: IBM Thinkpad Laptop

Hi erverybody,

I have a IBM thinkpad, pentium 4m at 2.00 GHz, 512mb RAM, 80 Gb HDD, a 1394 Net Adapter and an Intel pro/100 ve network connection.

While i'm not exactly a complete newbie to using linux, the last time I used linux was on this laptop and it was a Mandrake, i don't remember the version, however, i had a problem with the internet card, i couldn't find any drivers whatsoever, so i ended up using windows xp, again.

so my question is, which of the distros would have driver support for that network adapters....

I'm pretty sure the old IBM Thinkpads are well supported these days. This might be helpful:

Depending on the chipset of your wireless card, you might need proprietary drivers. (For example, you'd need the madwifi drivers for the atheros chipset.) A lot of distros have those preinstalled, more have them in their repositories, so if you have a wired connection when you install, you can get them easy enough.
