Like using linux for a new user isn't hard enough.

rokytnji, using Linux for new users is not hard at all, if they give it enough initial thought.

You've got graphics card, network cards, printers, scanners, webcams, etc. that work. You've got equivalent for all applications one might be familiar with in Windows. You've got large support communities in forums, wikis, IRC, mailing lists, etc.

And in this case, as with almost all, hardware manufacturers are at fault, for not providing drivers for their products. If they don't make their products Linux-compatible, you can't really blame Linux for that.

Not blaming Linux. Its because "almost all, hardware manufacturers are at fault, for not providing drivers for their products," That a lot of new users get discouraged. Foxcon just adds to the hassle was my point.

I agree with you there. Not saying Linux is hard. Just not easy for certain people.

Absolutely! It's not ideal for everybody, and you certainly won't change all your hardware to get Linux-compatible devices. I wasn't looking for a flame war and I'm glad there isn't one, yet! :)

Cheers!
