Why did David and his group decide the world needed yet another GNU/Linux distribution? And how are they making money? This second question is important because David says, yes, gOS (pronounced gee-oh-ess) is profitable -- and not from selling service and support contracts, either. For the full scoop, watch the video.

would be nice if they could get gOS preloaded on hardware that is worth buying. I still prefer Ubuntu preloaded due to better support. I liked gOS when it was using E17 although it was a bit buggy. With the change to Gnome, Avant, google gadgets, and myspace links, its just another distro.

It would be nice if a transcript could be provided for videos. I don't have audio at work, so it makes them a little pointless. And I've usually forgotten about them by the time I get home!

I really like the look of their new google "gadgets" distro. I still remember the time when gOS was using Enlightenment and how it was going to be serious competition with the Asus eee. Based on the video, their business model sounds pretty solid and I'm fully convinced that linux will become a lot more common.
